New Braunfels and the surrounding area is rich with Texas history and beauty. There's something for everyone from tubing the river, catching live music, visiting historic Gruene Hall, to taking a leisurely drive down River Road.
Camp Willow-Lake Dunlap History
Lake Dunlap is a reservoir on the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Tx. It was formed in 1931 and soon became a venue for outdoor recreation, including fishing and boating. Of all the lakes in the area, Lake Dunlap was referred to as, "The fisherman's lake" due to the abundance of largemouth bass, white crappie, and channel, blue and flathead catfish.
Established in 1940, Camp Willow has always been a destination for family vacations. The acre property is covered with over 50 100ft tall cypress and pecan trees that shade the beautiful 2.5 acres of green space along 600ft of frontage of Lake Dunlap-Guadalupe river.
